I am Jeanne Schoeppner and YES the children do and have my permission to call me JEANNE. My family and I have resided in the Le Sueur area with the exception of college years all of my life. I am extremely proud to say that I am a graduate of Le Sueur / Henderson High school and I have taught at Park / Hilltop Elementary for 30 years. I received my B.S in Communication Disorders from Minnesota State University – Mankato, MN. In addition I have completed course work through St. Thomas University and Hamline University. I love learning about the vast field of speech-language pathology through continuing education, and I think that my best teachers have been my two children, ages 27 and 31, and grandchildren Emeri (7), Elena & Elsie (2.5), and Beck (2).
As an Educational Speech Clinician, I have worked exclusively with children in the school setting. I evaluate and provide therapy to 3 year olds through 3rd grade at Park Elementary in Le Sueur. I have a particular focus on children ages 3-to-7 who demonstrate speech, language, and communication challenges. My wide variety of experience includes treating children with language disorders; stuttering; apraxia of speech; articulation, and phonological disorders. I have a special interest and training in Early Childhood Education: Autism Disorders; and Social Communication skills. I like to emphasize a play-based approach to treatment to help each child meet his/her optimal potential.
At Park Elementary, I am a committee member of our District Staff Development Team, Teacher Assistance Team, Child Study Special Education team, and Community Relations Team.
