We are so excited to have Frank Sentwali come to share and teach 4th and 5th grade students about the art of Spoken Word. Each 4th and 5th grade class will spend two library media class periods learning about and creating their own Spoken Word. This opportunity is made possible by the MN State Arts Board Grant Mrs. Malphurs and Mrs. Ranft wrote last spring and received approval for this fall.

On Friday, Mrs. Floersch’s kindergarteners and Ms. Eischens’ second graders teamed up for another Buddy Day!
This visit included building cages for Turkey Tom, reading Turkey in Disguise, and of course enjoying a sweet treat! It was such a wonderful experience watching our little engineers hard at work and having fun together! 🦃💛

In art, 3rd graders had fun layering on top of their monoprints/gelli prints with stitching today. I love how thoughtful they were about where they placed the stitching.

These kindergartners LOVED telling stories and using puppets with Ms. Nancy in library media class.

These friends were caught reading and won a free book from the book fair! Thanks to everyone who supported our book fair to support our readers and our library!

The best part of building in the makerspace is collaborating with a friend. Check out this axolotl made from magna tiles!

Kindergartners enjoying making cut paper collages. Look how good they are at using dots of glue too!

3rd graders enjoyed creating monoprints by layering color, pattern and texture on gelli plates.

Kindergarten met with their third grade buddies today and did a Thanksgiving STEM activity. 🦃. Together, we made a blueprint for a Thanksgiving table that would fit all of our Thanksgiving day food. We constructed our design from our blueprint (and adjusted as necessary). So much fun!

In library media class, Mrs. Ranft read the book “Pumpkin Jack” by Will Hubbell. Students are excitedly watching Jack decomposing and hoping to get a sprout!

Kindergarten and 1st graders loved learning to tell stories with Ms. Nancy and her puppets!

With wide eyes and grateful hearts, LSH Elementary students watched their school’s Veterans Day program, learning the true meaning of bravery and service. From all of us at LSH Elementary, thank you to our veterans — we deeply appreciate your courage, sacrifice, and love for our country.
A special thank-you to Veteran Josh Seaver, father of one of our students, for joining us at our Veterans Day program and sharing this special day with us.

Second grade All About Me Posters for October! Great job, students!

Be sure to check out the book fair when you come to conferences tonight. Don't forget to stop by the Teacher Wish List table and make a contribution to the teacher's classroom library. See you at the book fair!

🎉 What a fun day at LSH Elementary! Our students celebrated meeting their Kind-a-thon goals by getting to silly string their teachers! 😄 A huge THANK YOU to our amazing PTO for organizing such a successful and exciting fundraiser — your hard work and creativity made it all possible! 💙 #LSHElementary #Kindathon #SchoolSpirit #ThankYouPTO
