Leprechaun Family Reunion in Kindergarten! #GiantPride

Mark the date for our upcoming Kindergarten & Preschool Round-Up. Do you have a child who will be attending preschool (ages 3-5 by Sept. 1, 2024) or Kindergarten (must be 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2024) in the fall of 2024? Now is the time to make sure all your paperwork and registrations are turned in. 6th Grade Math Masters have been working hard for months and today they showed it! Individual award winners (out of 170 students) Brody M. 10th place Everett G. 11th place Kamdin A. 13th place Ezra C. 18th place Elena T. 21st place Individual Fast Facts Everett G. 5th place Brody M. 12th place There were 39 teams in the competition. Again, LSH came out strong! 3rd place: LSH gold: Brody M., Ezra C., Wes T., Charlie K., and Everett G. 4th place: LSH Blue Kamdin A., Levi H., Patrick B., Hazel R., and Clara R. 16th place: LSH Grey Elena T, Reece S, Attley H., and Kenny V. A GIANT THANK YOU to our Math Masters coaches, Keith and Jane! These children wouldn’t have this opportunity without them!!

5th grade students created these mini-installations in enrichment art.

The Kindergarteners learned some sewing skills in art today with Mrs. Malphurs and Miss Heidi, student teacher. The kinders created animals using wax resist with crayons and watercolor last week. The last step will be stuffing them with paper to turn them into sculptures. The project was inspired by a reading of the Sweet and Sour Animals book with poetry by Langston Hughes.

Beyond The Brink’s upcoming Escape Room event for youth - Tuesday, March 5th

Preschool friends had so much fun celebrating Dr. Seuss today with flashlight reading and Green Eggs and Ham!

4th graders at Park Elementary had the most amazing experience at the Science Museum of Minnesota. They partnered with the Vikings Foundation to provide STEM activities that correlate with the day-to-day experiences that occur at U S Bank Stadium. The Vikings Foundation provided free admission to the museum as well as the cost of the bus. The kids enjoyed all of the activities.

February kept us busy with Snow Week dress-up days, I Love To Read Month activities, and Daily Wellness activities. #GiantPride

Good luck Giants wrestling team at the state wrestling tournament! #GiantPride

Student artwork made with guest artist Alexandra Beaumont in December hung in the hallways for parent-teacher conferences in February. Students learned about Beaumont's art and created a shape parade banner. *This activity was made possible in part by a grant from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council with funds appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature from its general fund.

Students at LSH Elementary were very fortunate to receive a donation so that each student could get a book from the book fair. Thank you to the donor for helping put these smiles on these faces and to help us continue to grow a love for reading. ❤️

1st Graders learned about architecture and explored building, balancing, and drawing from observation this week.
