Second grade All About Me Posters for October! Great job, students!

Be sure to check out the book fair when you come to conferences tonight. Don't forget to stop by the Teacher Wish List table and make a contribution to the teacher's classroom library. See you at the book fair!

🎉 What a fun day at LSH Elementary! Our students celebrated meeting their Kind-a-thon goals by getting to silly string their teachers! 😄 A huge THANK YOU to our amazing PTO for organizing such a successful and exciting fundraiser — your hard work and creativity made it all possible! 💙 #LSHElementary #Kindathon #SchoolSpirit #ThankYouPTO

Be sure to stop by the Scholastic Book Fair in the elementary library media center during conferences on November 6 & 13, 3:30 - 7:00.

Follow the yellow brick road! Specialists were off to see the wizard for book character dress up day!

During fall conferences, we invite parents to stop by our Family Literacy Event before or after your child's conference to learn more about how we support reading and writing at school—and how you can help at home!
Come to learn about the Science of Reading, and pick up resources to use at home.
We look forward to seeing you there!

First grade is ready to celebrate storybook characters with Laura Numeroff characters!

4th graders enjoying painting and patterning their alebrije inspired sculptures.

Students are working hard in art to finish painting their alebrije inspired animal sculptures.

5th graders are all in different places working on their alebrijes inspired animal sculptures. Some are finishing up with paper mache, some are painting, some adding patterns with paint markers, and a couple have completed them and are doing extension extra choices such as drawing a fantasy place that their animal would live in or writing an adventure story with their alebrije.

1st graders combined what they have learned about alebrijes with what the learned about pattern and wax resist with crayon and watercolor to create imaginary animals. Next week they will cut them out, stuff, and stitch them up to make sculptures.

We will miss you Gideon! Glad you got to finish your alebrije inspired sculpture before you move!

🛠️✨ Calling all families and community members! Our elementary makerspace is buzzing with creativity, and we need your help 🧠🎨
We're collecting shoe boxes for upcoming student projects—think dioramas, engineering challenges, and imaginative builds galore! If you have any empty shoe boxes lying around, we'd love to give them a second life.
📦 Drop them off at the school office or with Mrs. Ranft anytime this week. Every box helps spark a new idea!
Thank you for supporting our young makers 💡❤️

Our second month of classroom buddies was a blast! Mrs. Floersch’s kindergarteners and Ms. Eischens’ second graders put their engineering skills to the test by building candy pumpkin catapults. There was so much laughter, teamwork, and flying pumpkins! We can’t wait to see what fun November brings! 🎃

2nd graders had a blast trying out stations in the makerspace to practice the rules.

Kindergarten loves snuggling up with a book and a good friend!

5th graders are working on a project about food webs in the makerspace. This unit fulfills some science standards in addition to learning about research and trustworthy websites. Students are collaborating with a team and using their creativity to teach others about their research including the importance of biodiversity within a food web.

After learning about animals in camouflage, 1st graders have been busy making an animal in its camouflage habitat in the makerspace.
