In Art, students at LSHE have been excited to start working with guest artist, Reggie LeFlore, a muralist from Minneapolis. Reggie will be creating a mural using images of LSHE students for inspiration, painting in art with the children, and helping them create a color wheel mural too. This project is funded via a PAI through the CRAE cohort at MNDE.

In Art, 2nd graders are connecting to our Purposeful People unit on Empathy by painting pictures that show emotions using facial expressions and color.

In Art, Kindergartens had a blast learning about mixing colors!

In Art, 2nd graders finished up their circular weavings and were quite proud of themselves!

Kindergartens kicked off the new year in Art by creating finger puppets from cut, folded, and curled paper.

In Art, 5th graders worked on mini weavings to finish up their fibers unit.

In Art, Kindergartners learned about architects and engineers. Each class built a design as a group. One class built a castle, one an airplane, and this class built a house with a chimney. The structures will go in the kindergarten pod so they can play in them in January.

In Art, 1st graders learned about Ojibwe history and bandolear bags. They designed their own bags or backpacks...drawing and tracing nature inspired designs and sewing on beads. I am so proud of their hard work and their creations.

5th graders have become wonderful storytellers with the help of our guest storyteller, Nancy Busse!

First graders were excited to get into the new computer lab for library media class and enjoyed a game to learn the keyboard!

It was a very successful fund raiser for H.A.V.E. (Humanities Are Vital to Education). H.A.V.E. is a nonprofit corporation established in 1982 to foster quality programming in the arts and humanities in our school district. Our organization provides funds for Le Sueur-Henderson students, both public and St.Anne’s, to have humanities-related experiences that might not be financially possible otherwise. Our funds are raised each fall and they include donations from families, private citizens, former staff and businesses from Le Sueur and Henderson, foundation grants and bequeaths. Since 1982, we have funded numerous projects at both the elementaries and MS/HS totaling more than$1,000,000. Approved projects for the 2024-25 school year total almost $24,000.
If you missed our donation drive and drawing you may still donate by mailing your donation to H.A.V.E., PO Box 190, Le Sueur 56058
